I have been in discussions with the Minister for State at the Office of Public Works about the flood relief works for the Clare River for many months. I am happy to say that recently Minister, Simon Harris T.D, has confirmed that the project has been signed off on and he hopes to see works commence shortly before or after Christmas. He also confirmed that the Department has already allocated the money for the project and that some €8 million in total will have been spent by the time all the works are completed.
